To end the cycle of traumatic childbirth and its aftermath by giving women the opportunity to have healthy pregnancies, safe and respectful childbirth experiences, and to birth happy and healthy babies.
Black women in Philadelphia are four times more likely to die of pregnancy related causes according to the city's Maternal Mortality Review Committee. Our goal is to see better birth outcomes and open safe havens for expecting mothers. We want to reduce premature births, reduce postpartum depression and anxiety and promote healthy and supportive parent child relationships,
We ADVOCATE, EMPOWER, and EDUCATE families on safe childbirth. We want to implement programs and ongoing interventions that will allow our mothers to excel after childbirth. We want to connect mothers with Doulas and offer support groups focused on postpartum wellness, Free childbirth classes, nutrition education, FULL perinatal support and more!
LaborLiveLove provides emergency and transitional maternity care homes for expecting people who are facing housing crisis. Housing insecurity can be a stressor and present health risk during pregnancy and childbirth. Our goal for this program is to increase self sufficient independent living, affording housing, permanent housing, while improving birth outcomes for our families.
